    passTRESpass by Jill Woodward

Jill Woodward is an editor-for-hire, co-founder of the production partnership Generator Pictures, and part-time journalist. She also collaborates with the dance collective mdas.

Jill works on a variety of projects: small business, corporate, non-profit, and independent. She's edited and/or created videos for Fed Ex, Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, NYC Coalition Against Hunger, sculptor Ursula von Rydingsvard, and yoga instructor Ranjitha Sandeep. Jill also volunteers at the 4th Street Food Co-op in the Communications & Graphics group.

Jill got her start in TV at CNN in Atlanta in 1990, and continued working for CNN-New York in 1999. There she learned her editing skills and became interested in storytelling. She covered Hurricane Katrina, the September 11th attacks, both Gulf Wars, major US elections, the entertainment industry, and financial news. In 2006 she moved to Amsterdam and wore two hats: radio news producer and documentary film editor. She worked part-time for the English language newsroom at Radio Netherlands Worldwide, sharpening her writing and interviewing skills. And she teamed up with NYC filmmaker Randi Cecchine on the independent documentary Trail of Feathers: The Missile Dick Chicks Take on America, helping create story structure from 300+ hours of verité and interview footage, and utilizing remote collaboration techniques.

In 2009 Jill returned to the East Village in New York, where she edits from her home office, primarily on Final Cut Pro. She is available to work on site. Check out her LinkedIn profile for recommendations.

    "The international population must move".
In the half-hour documentary, "passTRESpass", a New York City-based modern dancer returns to her home country, Greece, and creates a community dance performance with refugees and immigrants. The process gives the immigrants an opportunity to express themselves regarding issues they face such as racism, being treated as criminals, and living without papers. Participants are non-dancers from various countries in Africa, as well as Afghanistan and Albania. Although the group must work around language complications and other challenges, eventually a composition is performed for an Athens audience. The collaboration brings a diverse group of people together for an experience that will touch their lives profoundly. In English, French, and Greek with English subtitles. Directed by Jill Woodward and featuring the Modern Dance Awareness Society.
